This section of the Appalachian Trail runs 20 miles from Allen Gap(TN Hwy 70) to Devil Fork Gap (NC Hwy 212). Along the way it passes Little Laurel Shelter, Jerry Cabin Shelter, and Flint Mountain Shelter. This section follows the NC/TN state line, closing it numerous times.
